Weightless white floating flecks

Sweat rolling down my chest.

A ring of stone, a cone of wood

The only things, understood.

Transformation, freed through flame

Hopefully less, remains the same.

Storms of yesteryear–

Their chaos now subsided

A dragon rises.

I realize Little Bunny isn’t blue

She’s filled with fresh vibrancy.

Seeing anew, I change, too

Rousing the dragon within me.

Has it come?
Where has it gone?
Yes, it is.

For the first time,
In such a long time,
I miss the crickets.
