Sirens in my bedroom

How can I sleep while others suffer?

I must to make change.

These hands of mine:

Weapons of defense

Tools of creation

Extensions of emotion

Beacons of pain.

A man, breath by breath

But sometimes, in a heartbeat

Chance returns the boy.

Winding down/catching up

Missing appointments

Forcing a few slow breaths.

My body on top of this bed

My mind crawling on the ceiling

My heart slowing with breath.
